Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Second Cook, Pastry to prepare, cook and present menu items per hotel recipes and standards. You will maintain cleanliness, stay knowledgeable on daily features, and support the kitchen team with professional, guest-focused service.

The role emphasizes teamwork, high standards, and adherence to safety policies, with opportunities for growth through our learning programs and Accor benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in the culinary field required.
• Journeyman’s papers or international equivalent an asset
• Diploma/Certification in a Culinary discipline an asset
• Strong interpersonal and problem solving abilities
• Assist in various kitchen duties
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
• Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times
• Ensure quality standards and safety standards are met
• Prepare all mise-en-place for different areas of the kitchen

Responsibilities
