Job summary

Wurth Canada is seeking a Senior Payroll and Project Specialist to manage accurate, on-time payroll across hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees while supporting continuous improvement initiatives. The role reports to the Director of Finance and involves collaboration with Payroll, HR, and Finance teams to enhance efficiency and data integrity.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of payroll experience, strong Excel skills, and expertise with ADP and ERP platforms (Dynamics AX, SAP).

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive payroll experience in complex environments including hourly, salaried and commissioned payrolls.
• Bilingualism in French and English preferred for nationwide support.
• Experience in shared or dual accountability models.
• Proven experience implementing payroll process improvements to enhance efficiency and controls.
• Strong hands-on experience with ADP Payroll and HRIS modules (Workforce Now) and multi-frequency payroll processing.
• Advanced Excel skills, including reconciliation and data validation.
• Strong knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation.
• PCP designation required; CPM or CCP asset.
• Experience with ERP systems such as Dynamics AX and SAP; experience supporting transitions or implementations.

Responsibilities

• Process payroll accurately and on time across bi-weekly and semi-monthly cycles for hourly, salaried, and commissioned employees.
• Ensure payroll data accuracy in ADP through controls, reconciliations, and review processes.
• Maintain compliance with payroll legislation, internal controls, audit requirements, and deadlines.
• Review payroll processes to identify opportunities to improve efficiency, compliance, and risk reduction.
• Partner with Payroll, HR, Finance, and other stakeholders to implement process improvements.
• Identify opportunities to improve payroll reporting capabilities and automation.
• Provide back-up support for HRIS reporting and data management.
• Collaborate with Payroll, HR, Finance, and Sales Operations for accurate commission administration.
• Monitor key payroll KPIs such as accuracy, timeliness, reconciliation quality, and audit readiness.
• Participate in testing activities, implement improvements, and support knowledge sharing.
