Job summary

Siemens Energy Canada seeks a Pre-Construction Commodity Manager to lead procurement for civil and electrical installation on major Grid Technology projects across Canada. You’ll build relationships with contractors and suppliers, negotiate strategic agreements, and ensure the right partners and materials for complex work.

You will drive cost efficiency, collaborate with engineers and project teams, and travel up to 20% within Canada and internationally as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in procurement, business, engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of civil construction or preconstruction experience.
• Advanced negotiation skills in project-based environments.
• Fluent in English and French with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Own the procurement interface for civil and installation scopes with subcontractors.
• Shape supply and subcontractor strategies for FACTS and HVDC projects.
• Lead commercial evaluations and negotiations with technical experts.
• Drive cost efficiency and supplier performance improvements.
• Collaborate across procurement, civil engineering, erection & commissioning, and project management.
