MereHR is proud to partner with a leading organization in the transportation and heavy machinery sector to recruit a Bilingual HR Generalist (English/French) to join their dynamic team in Mississauga, ON. This full-time, in-office position offers an exciting opportunity to support a growing workforce across multiple HR functions in an operational, hands-on environment.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Senior Human Resources Business Partner, the Bilingual HR Generalist will provide comprehensive HR support to employees and management teams, acting as a trusted advisor on a range of HR matters. The successful candidate will play a key role in fostering positive employee relations, supporting recruitment, overseeing HR programs, and ensuring compliance with employment legislation and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day HR support and advice to employees and managers across departments.
  • Manage full-cycle recruitment activities including job postings, candidate screening, interviews, offers, and onboarding.
  • Support employee relations matters including investigations, performance management, and disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate and administer HR programs such as benefits, health & safety, and training initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate HRIS records, reports, and personnel files.
  • Assist the Senior HRBP in implementing HR strategies aligned with business goals.
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation and workplace policies to ensure compliance.
  • Facilitate bilingual communication across HR documents, policies, and employee communications as required.
  • Participate in joint health & safety committee activities and workplace safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist experience, ideally within transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or heavy industry.
  • Fluency in English and French (spoken and written) is required.
  • Strong working knowledge of Ontario employment legislation and HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting a unionized environment is considered an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build trust and credibility.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS platforms.
  • CHRP designation (or working towards certification) is an asset.
