Job summary

Mitacs, a mission-driven organization shaping Canada’s innovation future, seeks an HR Coordinator for a full-time temporary contract through March 31, 2027. You will support recruitment, onboarding, HR operations, reporting, and development logistics, collaborating with the HR team to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant processes.

The role is ideal for someone organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working cross-functionally to improve the candidate experience and employee lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bilingualism in English and French required.
• Post-secondary education in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 1–3 years of HR coordination or related experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
• Knowledge of HR policies and employment standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate recruitment activities including postings, screening, scheduling, reference checks, and new hire documentation.
• Support onboarding/offboarding, HRIS updates, payroll and benefits coordination.
• Maintain accurate employee records and support HRIS, payroll, benefits, and lifecycle administration.
• Track and report HR metrics to support recruitment, learning and development, and employee experience priorities.
• Assist with employee inquiries and support HR programs and communications.
