Job summary

Everwild Nordic Spa & Hotel in Canmore is seeking a talented Bartender for a full-time position. You will craft exceptional cocktails and coffee/barista items, delivering memorable guest experiences in a high-end setting.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Bartender in a fine dining or high-end restaurant environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wines, and mixology techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Create an inviting atmosphere with personalized and attentive service.
• Prepare and serve a wide variety of cocktails, coffees, and beverages with high quality and consistency.
• Suggest pairings and make recommendations based on guest preferences and menu offerings.
• Maintain a clean, organized bar area and ensure health and safety standards.
• Handle cash transactions accurately and record sales with accountability.
• Collaborate with culinary team for food and cocktail pairings and training of junior staff.

Position Overview

We are seeking a talented and passionate Bartender to join our team on a full time basis. As a Bartender, you will play a crucial role in creating memorable dining experiences for our guests by crafting exceptional coffee / barista services and cocktails. Salary: $17/hr + gratuities
Shifts: Full Time/Permanent. Weekdays, weekends, 6:30am - 2:30pm

Key Responsibilities

• Create an inviting and welcoming atmosphere for guests, providing personalized and attentive service.
• Prepare and serve a wide variety of expertly crafted cocktails, maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency.
• Demonstrate an extensive knowledge of spirits, wines, and other beverages, and provide recommendations to guests based on their preferences and menu offerings.
• Collaborate closely with the culinary team to ensure seamless coordination between the bar and the kitchen, especially in relation to food and cocktail pairings.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area, including glassware, utensils, and ingredients, following health and safety regulations at all times.
• Engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner, actively listening to their preferences and anticipating their needs to deliver exceptional service.
• Provide accurate and efficient handling of cash transactions, ensuring the proper recording of all sales and maintaining strict accountability.
• Stay up to date with industry trends, new beverage products, and mixology techniques, and incorporate them into the development of innovative and enticing cocktail offerings.
• Assist in training and mentoring junior bar staff, promoting a positive and collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience as a Bartender in a high-end or fine dining restaurant environment is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of classic and contemporary cocktails, spirits, wines, and mixology techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact confidently and graciously with guests and colleagues.
• A passion for providing exceptional customer service, with a keen eye for detail and a dedication to exceeding guest expectations.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
• Outstanding organizational and multitasking abilities, ensuring timely and accurate preparation of beverages even during peak hours.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and basic math skills for handling transactions.
• Flexibility in working evenings, weekends, and holidays, as per the demands of the business.
