Job summary

Fairmont Hot Springs Resort in British Columbia is seeking a Bartender to join our team. The role includes organizing the bar area, preparing cocktails, serving food, and advising on wine selections. This is a permanent, full-time position with varied shifts including day, evening, weekends, and mornings. Ideal candidates will have English fluency, a high school diploma, and the Serving It Right

Responsibilities

• Schedule and train staff.
• Handle cash and balance beverage sales.
• Store beverages and food products and manage bar stock.
• Respond to customer complaints and enforce liquor laws.

• The candidate will be responsible for arranging the bar area to create attractive displays.
• The candidate will be responsible for organizing the operations of a cocktail lounge or bar.
• The candidate will be responsible for short-order cooking and food preparation.
• The candidate will be responsible for cleaning the bar area and washing glassware.
• The candidate must serve food or snacks.
• The candidate must advise on wine selection.
• The candidate must provide recommendations for drink selections.
• The candidate must schedule staff.
• The candidate must train staff.
• The candidate must collect cash, credit/debit cards, or other forms of payment for beverages.
• The candidate will be responsible for recording and balancing beverage sales.
• The candidate must store beverages and food products.
• The candidate will be responsible for ordering bar stock, maintaining inventory, and controlling bar stock.
• The candidate must respond to customer complaints or concerns.
• The candidate will be responsible for enforcing provincial/territorial liquor laws and regulations.
• The candidate must prepare mixed drinks, wine, draft or bottled beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
• The candidate must take beverage orders from serving staff or directly from customers.
• The candidate must be able to handle conflict situations.

Job Requirements

• The candidate should be fluent in English language.
• The candidate must have a certificate of Secondary (high) school graduation.
• Candidate having experience is an asset.
• The candidate will be required to have the Serving It Right Certificate
• The candidate must be able to handle weight up to 23 kg (50 lbs).
