Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA is seeking a Barista to prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, and related items at our Burnaby location in Metro Vancouver. You will welcome customers, suggest menu options, and ensure quality service in a fast-paced café setting.

You will educate customers on drinks, handle inventory, operate and maintain equipment, and uphold sanitation standards. A friendly, team-oriented attitude is essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous work experience as a Barista is an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to follow oral and written instructions.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu.
• Prepare coffee drinks using prescribed recipes and techniques.
• Sell coffee and equipment by explaining differences in beans and machines.
• Maintain inventories and keep coffee bar stocked.
• Keep equipment operating and perform basic maintenance.
• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
• Improve quality by evaluating processes and enhancing store appearance.
