Job summary

COMPASS GROUP CANADA in Burnaby, BC is seeking a friendly Barista to join our coffee bar team. You will welcome customers, explain the menu, and craft espresso drinks like lattes and cappuccinos to a high standard.

You will also help educate customers about beans and brewing equipment, restock supplies, maintain equipment, and uphold sanitation guidelines while contributing to a welcoming store atmosphere.

Qualifications

• Previous Barista experience is an asset.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to follow recipes and directions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Welcome customers by determining coffee interests and needs.
• Educate customers on the menu and respond to questions.
• Prepare drinks by following prescribed recipes (espresso, latte, cappuccino).
• Sell coffee equipment and explain differences in beans and machines.
• Maintain inventory and keep the coffee bar stocked and tidy.
• Keep equipment operating and perform basic maintenance as needed.
• Follow sanitation standards and maintain a safe work environment.
• Suggest process improvements to enhance store appearance and service.
