Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) seeks a Bar Supervisor to manage bar operations in military messes, golf, curling and marinas. You will organize staff, supervise events, and provide excellent customer experiences for CAF members and families.

You will handle beverage prep, inventory, and ordering, while maintaining compliance with liquor laws and preparing daily sales reports. This role emphasizes teamwork, reliability, and strong administrative skills in a dynamic, on-site

Qualifications

• High school diploma plus beverage sector experience or related field preferred.
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (AB) and possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (AB).
• Food handling certification as required; valid Alberta driver’s licence is asset.

Responsibilities

• Organize, supervise and schedule day-to-day bar activities for events and daily operations.
• Provide administrative support to bar operations and service beverages, inventory control and supply ordering.
• Operate POS system and prepare cash/inventory reports, ensuring compliance with provincial liquor regulations.
• Support in setting up and taking down social and military functions in a team environment.

THE ROLE

As a Bar Supervisor, you will contribute to an excellent customer experience in the military messes, golf, curling and marinas bar operations. You will organize, supervise and schedule the day-to-day bar activities for the bar staff for big events and the everyday moments. You will build a rapport with the military community and be part of various military traditions.

The Bar Supervisor will provide administrative support to bar operations and a variety of services such as preparing and serving beverages, maintaining inventory of bar stock and ordering supplies and assisting in the set-up and take down of social and military functions. You will operate a Point of Sales system; prepare reports on cash/inventory transactions such as daily sales reports (DSR) and ensure compliance with provincial liquor legislation and regulations.

Qualifications Needed

Education, Certifications and Licenses

• High school diploma and several years of experience in beverage sector or a related field
• Must be of legal age to serve alcohol (AB)
• Must possess a Responsible Service of Alcohol certification (AB)
• Food Handling Certification, as required
• Valid Driver’s Licence (AB), an asset
