The role of a chef/cook with Agincare is more than just cooking. You will be working with the team to provide a high quality of life for those that need it. This is a Bank Chef role, and the company is looking for someone with the flexibility to work as and when required, including weekends.

Main duties of the job

Are you looking for a challenging role where you can learn new skills and deliver great food? Are you experienced in catering and managing dietary requirements? As a Bank Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning, understanding dietary needs, and managing the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, including stock management and hygiene standards. You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure you are meeting the residents' specific nutritional and dietary needs, including modified food textures and allergies.

Job responsibilities

As a Bank Chef, you will be responsible for menu planning, understanding dietary needs, and managing the day‑to‑day running of the kitchen, including stock management and hygiene standards. You will work closely with the wider staff to ensure you are meeting the residents' specific nutritional and dietary needs.

  • Menu planning – collaborate with the home manager and residents’ requests to develop and implement menu ideas.
  • Understanding dietary needs – work closely with staff to meet residents’ specific nutritional and dietary needs, including modified food textures and allergies.
  • Kitchen Management – act as the main point of contact for the kitchen, responsible for day‑to‑day stock management and hygiene standards.

What is required from you
  • A minimum of 12 months on your right to work
  • You are required to have a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle to get to and from work as Tilford care home is situated in a remote location with no public transport routes
  • A background within kitchens and understanding of how to run a professional kitchen
  • Knowledge of the IDDSI framework or supporting complex dietary requirements is desirable.
  • This is a Bank Chef role and we are looking for someone who has the flexibility to work as and when required to include weekends
Qualifications
