Job summary

Canadian Tire is seeking an Automotive Service Installer to join our friendly, family-oriented team. You will perform basic vehicle maintenance and tire services, communicate with service staff, and provide clear estimates and reports.

This role supports ongoing training and career opportunities within a well-known Canadian retailer with a strong community presence. We emphasize safety, customer satisfaction, and teamwork in a fast-paced service centre.

Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license for province of employment.
  • Physical demands: standing/walking 8 hours with lifting and carrying.
  • Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, weekends, holidays).
  • Approachable and customer-friendly attitude.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Able to solve problems and make decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge of current automobile technology.
  • Comfort working with computerized systems.
  • Results-oriented with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in a similar role at a Canadian Tire Automotive Service Centre is an asset.
  • Good working knowledge of COSTAR is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs (oil, lube, tire installation/rotation/balancing, basic inspections that don’t require a licensed technician).
  • Administer drive clean emission tests (where provincial).
  • Perform RIV inspections where applicable.
  • Communicate with Service Manager/Advisors/Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
  • Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
  • Ensure unsafe vehicles are reported to management and owner.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform customer vehicle basic maintenance and repairs, as requested (lube, oil and filter changes / remove, install, rotate and balance tires / basic repairs, maintenance and inspections that do not require the presence of a Licensed Automobile Technician, etc.).
  • Administer drive clean emission tests (only in specific provinces).
  • Perform Registered Imported Vehicles (RIV) inspections.
  • Communicate with Service Manager/Service Advisors/Licensed Automobile Technicians and Back Parts Window Associate.
  • Provide accurate estimates and written vehicle reports to the Service Advisor.
  • Ensure that an unsafe vehicle is reported to management and vehicle owner.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations.

Requirements / Skills

  • Valid driver’s license for province of employment
  • Ability to handle physical demands including standing/walking for 8 hours while frequently lifting and carrying items, twisting, turning and reaching
  • Ability to work shifts (days, evenings, week-ends and holidays)
  • Approachable
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to find solutions to problems, adapt and cope with challenging situations and make decisions
