Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. is seeking a Deputy Packaging Supervisor in Bedford to support the packaging department. You will validate daily production schedules, ensure lines run smoothly, and adjust equipment adjustments to meet standards. You will manage line staff and enforce health, safety, and GMP guidelines.

The role emphasizes teamwork, adherence to procedures, quality control, and hands-on supervision across shifts, with opportunities for growth in a growing company.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years experience in an industrial environment.
• High school diploma or equivalent experience.
• Be able to work following pre-established procedures.
• Be able to work with a low margin of error.
• Be able to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Validate the production schedule and plan the current day.
• Ensure the departure of production lines and check operating speeds according to established standards.
• Adjust and optimize the adjustments of the Blue Print, the electronic scale, the tapping machine, the printer heads and the palletizer.
• Check the components necessary for production (boxes, bags).
• Check quality standards, i.e. the codes on the bags, the seal and the printing of the marker on the boxes.
• Supervise all activities during operation, during washing and product changes, as well as order completions (raw material quantity, load out).
• Manage employees assigned to production lines and secondary tasks.
• Transmit to the supervisor any problem regarding health and safety, as well as the application of company policies (breaks, meals, lateness).
• Ensure compliance with good manufacturing practices and work instructions established by our GFSI system to guarantee product safety.
• Replace the supervisor in case of absence

Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the Deputy Packaging Supervisor collaborates with the Supervisor to ensure that all of the department's operations meet the performance indicators.
