Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa seeks an experienced Assistant General Manager to lead day-to-day spa operations and oversee Guest Services, Concierge, and Treatment Providers. Reporting to the General Manager, you will drive exceptional guest experiences and staff development while acting as Manager on Duty in the General Manager's absence.

Key responsibilities include staffing, scheduling, service standards, and collaborating with other leaders to ensure smooth operations.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in spa, wellness, hospitality, or similar guest-focused setting.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and develop staff.
• Strong knowledge of spa operations, treatments and guest service.

• Lead, coach, develop, and support teams while promoting a positive workplace culture.
• Oversee scheduling, staffing and daily deployment within departments.
• Ensure a seamless guest journey from arrival to departure, maintaining service standards.

• Ensure health and safety, SOPs and professional standards are followed.

Position Overview

Dakota Dunes Thermal Spa is seeking anexperienced Assistant General Manager (AGM) to join our leadershipteam and support the opening and ongoing operation of this new wellnessdestination.

Reporting to the General Manager, the AGM willsupport day-to-day spa operations and have direct oversight of Guest Services,including Reception, Concierge, and Treatment Providers. This is a visible,hands-on leadership role focused on team development, operational excellence,service standards, and delivering an exceptional guest experience. The AGM willalso act as Manager on Duty and assume overall operational leadership inthe absence of the General Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight of Reception/Guest Services,Concierge, and Treatment Providers.
• Lead, coach, develop, and support teams while promoting a positiveand accountable workplace culture.
• Oversee scheduling, staffing, and daily deployment within assigneddepartments.
• Ensure a seamless guest journey from arrival and check-in throughthermal and treatment experiences to departure.
• Maintain exceptional guest service and treatment standards andaddress escalated guest concerns when required.
• Support recruitment, onboarding, training, and performancemanagement.
• Ensure policies, procedures, SOPs, professional standards, andhealth and safety requirements are consistently followed.
• Support the General Manager with daily spa operations andoperational priorities.
• Act as Manager on Duty, providing facility-wide leadership asrequired.
• Collaborate with other department leaders to support smoothoperations across the spa.
• Monitor guest experience, facility presentation, safety, andoperational standards.
• Support labour management, operational planning, and continuousimprovement.
• Assume overall operational leadership in the absence of the GeneralManager.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in spa, wellness, hospitality,hotel, resort, or a comparable guest-focused environment.
• Proven experience leading and developing multidisciplinaryguest-facing teams.
• Strong understanding of spa operations, treatments, and exceptionalguest service is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, organizational, andproblem-solving skills.
• Experience with scheduling, labour management, and dailyoperations.
• Ability to make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Pre-opening experience is a strong asset.
• Thermal spa, Nordic spa, destination spa, or wellness experience isan asset.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
