Job summary

TELUS Health is seeking an Associate Pension Administrator to join a team providing client-focused pension administration for corporate clients. You will process pension calculations, respond to client inquiries, and support senior staff in initiatives across national scope.

Requirements include post-secondary education in business/finance-related fields and 0–2 years of defined benefit/defined contribution pension experience. English fluency is essential; French is a plus.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science or a related field.
• 0–2 years pension administration experience in Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution plans.
• Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Fluency in English; French is an asset.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Performs standard pension benefit calculations (retirements, terminations, etc.) in accordance with plan rules and legislative requirements.
• Assists in the preparation of year-end annual pension statements.
• Works with pension databases and Morneau Shepell's internal software/systems.
• Responds to routine plan enquiries and requests from clients.
• Takes direction from and supports senior team members.
• Attends internal training sessions to build knowledge of industry topics and trends.
• Assists with special projects, as required.

The Associate Pension Administrator will work within a team that provides quality client-focused administrative services for our Corporate clients. At TELUS Health, we bring clarity to plan options and simplify communications between members, administrators, and our clients.

What you'll do

As an analyst, you'll play a critical role in administering group annuity plans and providing administration support. In this role, you'll help thousands of plan members understand and access their hard-earned retirement and benefits-work that directly impacts their financial security and peace of mind. Here's what you'll do:

• Efficiently and accurately, process and manage a variety of transactional activities, including but not limited to member data updates and processing benefit calculations and payments
• Respond to general queries from our client, members and team
• Assist with day-to-day requests and instructions received
• Identify, research and resolve data discrepancies
• Develop and maintain checklists and procedures
• Take direction from, and support senior team members
• Support the team with various mandates and special projects

What you bring

• Post-secondary education (preferably in Business, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Science) or another relevant field of study
• 0-2 years of Defined Benefit or Defined Contribution pension administration experience
• Sharp analytical thinking and attention to details
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
• Excellent organizational skills
• Dedicated team player who demonstrates initiative and independence
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; French would be an asset
• Knowledge of Microsoft Excel

Advanced knowledge of English is required because you will most of the time interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.); and work with IT tools whose interface is only accessible in English as part of this position's main responsibilities given its national scope.

Salary Range: $ 52,000 - $58,000

Actual total compensation will be determined based on factors such as knowledge, skills, performance and experience.
