Job summary

Telefilm Canada is seeking an HR and Culture Advisor who will play a pivotal role in fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace culture. This position involves providing comprehensive HR support, implementing EDI initiatives, and advising management on best practices. The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, at least 6 years of relevant experience, and fluency in both French and English to effectively navigate diverse workplace dynamics.

  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in human resources.
  • Member of the Ordre des CRHA / CRIA.
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English at CBC level.

YOUR ROLE

Reporting to the Director, Talent and Culture, the HR and Culture Advisor plays an influential role in achieving an inclusive and collaborative culture. In a consulting role, the incumbent advises and acts as a supportive business partner to managers and as a collaborator for the human resources team and staff members. More specifically, the incumbent is responsible for :

  • Provide advice and services in all areas of human resources management;
  • Provide advice and support to managers in the area of human resources management, including needs analysis, application of programs, policies, working conditions and handling of complex situations, and help them implement best practices;
  • Participate in the development and updating of Human Resources policies and procedures;
  • Participate in the development and implementation of prevention activities as part of the OHS prevention program with respect to wellness, in order to foster and promote a healthy, safe and wellness-friendly work environment;
  • Actively contribute to HR initiatives and content (policies, procedures, communications) for issues related to respect in the workplace, employment equity and official languages;
  • Support the application of best practices to contribute to an inclusive culture;
  • Participate in the design, facilitation and deployment of activities relating to EDI, respect, civility and accessibility to equip and raise awareness among staff members, and see to their dissemination;
  • Lead and coordinate the EDI committee made up of staff members and participate in the implementation of initiatives to promote equity, diversity and inclusion within the various internal departments;
  • Participate in the drafting of annual reports for submission to government bodies (Equity report, Accessibility report).

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or Industrial Relations or any other related discipline or combination of equivalent and relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years' experience in human resources, including a significant number of years managing EDI files and projects;
  • Member of the Ordre des CRHA / CRIA;
  • Experience in developing HR policies and business processes;
  • Excellent knowledge of French and English, both written and spoken at CBC level.
