Job summary

PCL Constructors Canada Inc. in the Ottawa district (Gatineau, Quebec) is seeking an Engineering Student for a four‑month placement starting January 2027. You will contribute to real projects, gain hands‑on experience, and receive mentorship within the Canadian Buildings sector.

Responsibilities include deficiency walks, coordinating sub‑trade work, document drawings, and quantity take‑offs. Must be bilingual in English and French and eligible for security clearance.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a civil engineering degree or diploma.
• Eligible for Government of Canada security clearance at Reliability Status.
• Bilingual EN/FR required.
• Experience with drafting software and general office software.
• Self-motivated with hands-on approach.
• Prior field construction experience is an asset.
• ASP Construction Safety course is an asset.

• Track site progress and deficiencies.
• Verify site conditions and coordinate with drawings.
• Coordinate, mark up and update drawings.
• Coordinate work specific scope and trades.
• Conduct trade quote reviews by verifying quantities, hours and rates.
• Input and update deficiency logs.
• Participate in project meetings.
• Perform quantity take-offs.
• Produce as-built drawings.
• Set up and maintain record keeping.

Join us as aEngineering Student for our Ottawa district, within our Canadian Buildings sector for 4 months starting January 2027. Depending on your assigned project as a Engineering Student, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:

• Participates in project meetings.
• Performs quantity take-offs.
• Produces as-built drawings.
• Sets-up and maintains record keeping.

Qualifications

• Working towards a degree or diploma in a civil engineering related field.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain, a Government of Canada security clearance at the Reliability Status level
• Bilingualism in English and French is required
• A passion for working in a construction environment.
• Experience with the application of various computer software programs, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
• Self-motivation with a hands-on approach.
• Prior field construction experience is considered an asset.
• Completion of the ASP Construction Safety course is considered an asset.

The estimated salary range for this role is$21.25 to $30.00,based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
