Job summary

PCL Constructors Inc. in Ottawa, Ontario seeks a BT Student for the Edmonton NAHQ district for 4 months starting January 2027.

You will set up users, printers and workstations, provide tier 1 and 2 IT support both in the office and at sites, and participate in upgrades and rollouts. This internship offers weekly pay, mental health support, benefits, and opportunities to grow through mentoring and a structured career path.

Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of computers with basic hardware support.
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Able to provide exceptional customer service.
• Able to read basic network drawings.
• Able to lift up to 45-50 lbs.
• Eligible for Government of Canada security clearance (Enhanced Reliability).

Responsibilities

• Set up new users, printers and workstations and provide tier 1 (phone) and 2 (in person) support to district – both in the office and various site locations.
• Participate in upgrades and rollouts.
• Assist with equipment asset and licensing management.
• Create reports using Microsoft Excel.
• Track, escalate, and follow up on IT related issues.
• Document and monitor corporate office systems standards.
• Attend weekly team meetings.
• Assist in a variety of other customer service and systems related tasks as required.
• Move monitors and other hardware between sites.
• Some travel to jobsites located outside of Ottawa may be required during your work term.

• Ability to lift up to 45-50 lbs.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a Government of Canada security clearance at the Enchanced Reliability Status
