Job description

Job Title: Legal Assistant (Temporary)

Duration of employment: Temporary

Language of work: English or French

Working hours: 30 hours per week

Education:
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a 1-2 year program
Work setting:
  • General law practice
  • Criminal law
Tasks:
  1. Open and distribute incoming mail and electronic correspondence
  2. Schedule and confirm appointments
  3. Maintain filing systems
  4. Establish office procedures and routines
  5. Prepare and enter legal correspondence and documents
  6. Review and proofread documents for legal compliance and grammatical accuracy
  7. Perform basic bookkeeping tasks
Supervision:

Supervise 1 to 2 people

Computer and technology skills:
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • QuickBooks
