Job summary

Providence Care Hospital in Kingston, ON is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct professional nursing care for patients with complex mental health needs. Working with patients, families and the clinical team, you will apply the nursing process to promote positive outcomes and coordinate each patient’s journey toward independence and well-being.

Qualifications

• Current, unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• Must have recent experience in an acute psychiatric setting.
• Must have current CPR certification.
• BSc.N. preferred.

Responsibilities

• Completing a nursing history based on information from patient, family and other sources.
• Developing and recording a comprehensive, goal-oriented nursing care plan with the patient based on assessed needs and prescribed medical regime.
• Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Accurately following the prescribed medical regime.
• Recognizes, analyzes, interprets and manages deviations from the predicted client response.
• Revising nursing care plans based on evaluation using professional judgment and autonomous decision‑making.
