Job summary

Providence Care Hospital in Kingston, Ontario, is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct professional nursing care for patients requiring complex mental health services. The RN will implement autonomous nursing actions within the nursing process, coordinating with patients, families, and the clinical team to promote independence and wellness.

Required are current, unrestricted RN registration in Ontario, CPR certification, and experience in acute psychiatric settings.

Qualifications

• Must have current CPR certification.
• Current, unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BSc.N. preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Completing a nursing history based on information from patient, family and others.
• Developing and recording a comprehensive, goal-oriented nursing care plan with patient collaboration.
• Building therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Following the prescribed medical regime accurately.
• Recognizing, analyzing and managing deviations from expected client response.
• Revising nursing care plans based on evaluation and autonomous decision-making.
