Job summary

Providence Care Hospital in Ontario is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to provide direct professional nursing care for patients needing complex mental health services. Using the nursing process, the RN will implement autonomous actions to promote positive patient outcomes and collaborate with patients, families and the clinical team.

• Current, unrestricted registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
• BSc.N. preferred.
• Recent experience in an acute psychiatric setting.

Responsibilities

• Completing a nursing history based on information from patient, family and other sources.
• Developing and recording a comprehensive goal oriented nursing care plan with patient, based on needs and prescribed regime.
• Developing therapeutic relationships with patients and families.
• Accurately following the prescribed medical regime.
• Recognizing, analyzing, interpreting and managing deviations from the predicted client response.
• Revising nursing care plans based on evaluation and professional judgment.

Position Summary:

To provide direct professional nursing care for patients requiring complex mental health services. Utilizing the principles of the nursing process, the RN will implement autonomous nursing actions to ensure that services provided promote positive patient outcomes.
