Job summary

North Bay Regional Health Centre seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for the Acute Inpatient Psychiatry Unit (AIPU). The role involves high-intensity, 24/7 psychiatric care with a multidisciplinary team supporting adult patients in acute distress.

The incumbent will perform psychiatric assessment, medication management, health teaching, and coordinate discharge planning under CUPE 139 terms. Applicants must hold current RN registration in Ontario, BLS certification, and demonstrate knowledge

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Registration – College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate required (recent within 12 months).
• GPA certificate an asset.
• Mental health experience in active care setting required.
• Knowledge of psychotropic medications, symptom management and health teaching.
• Knowledge of Health Disciplines Act and Mental Health Act.
• Knowledge of major mental illness from bio-psychosocial perspective.
• Basic computer knowledge required.
