Job summary

MT Talent Solutions Inc. partners with a global company to hire an Accounts Receivable Specialist in Burlington, ON (In-Office). You will own the AR process, maintain customer accounts, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate has 2+ years of AR experience, post-secondary accounting/finance education, strong Excel skills, and ERP exposure (SAP a plus). Fluency in English and French is an asset.

• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office.
• ERP experience; SAP is an asset.
• Bilingual English/French communication is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with accuracy in financial data.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Customer-service orientation with professional communication.

Responsibilities

• Process customer payments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Set up new customer accounts, including applicable pricing information.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data.
• Independently manage customer account balances, ageing and collections.
• Review customer payment terms and make adjustments as required.
• Process credit card and debit payments.
• Prepare and process Accounts Receivable bank deposits.
• Complete bank reconciliations and issue debit and credit notes.
• Serve as a key point of contact for AR inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve account discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
• Document, address and follow through on outstanding A/R discrepancies.
• Develop process documentation and contribute to ongoing process improvements.
• Support the Finance team with month-end close activities.
• Assist with preparing information for the annual financial audit.

This position is ideal for an accounting professional with a strong background in business-to-business accounts receivable who enjoys taking ownership of their work while interacting regularly with both internal and external stakeholders. You will play an important role in maintaining accurate customer accounts, managing collections and providing responsive, customer-focused support.

Here’s What You Will Do:

• Process customer payments in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Set up new customer accounts, including applicable pricing information.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date customer master data.

• Review customer payment terms and make adjustments as required.

Here’s What We’re Looking For:

• 2+ years of progressive Accounts Receivable experience. Business-to-business receivables is preferred.
• Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance or similar area of study.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office including full proficiency with Excel.
• ERP experience; SAP experience is considered an asset.
• Bilingual English/French communication skills are considered an asset.
• Strong attention to detail with demonstrated accuracy when preparing and entering financial information.
• Excellent organizational, planning and time-management skills.
• Strong customer-service orientation with the ability to communicate sensitively, tactfully and professionally with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to learn quickly, adapt and take ownership of responsibilities.
