Job summary

White Cap is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our Canada finance team. You will complete invoice coding, process payments, and maintain accurate account records while upholding customer service standards.

The role requires HS diploma or GED and typically 2–5 years in accounts payable or related fields. You’ll handle data entry, exception research, and document scanning in a fast-paced warehouse and building materials environment. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED strongly preferred.
• Generally 2–5 years of experience in accounts payable or area of responsibility.
• Specialized skills training/certification may be required.

Responsibilities

• Codes invoices and accounts; reconciles and processes transactions to ensure timely payments.
• Analyzes exceptions and routes unresolved items to appropriate departments.
• Performs research and reconciliation to update and maintain account information.
• Performs basic data entry in department systems.
• Monitors and flags expense reports for policy exceptions or violations.
• Clears and matches account information and processes expenses and vendor payments.
• Opens and sorts mail by document type (invoice, statement, etc.).
• Batches and prepares invoices for scanning; scans invoices into the system for payment processing.
• Researches and routes unscanned mail to other business lines for processing.
• Performs clerical functions necessary to support Accounts Payable.
