Kelly's customer, a leading provider of comprehensive, innovative, and integrated payments solutions and services, has a temp-to-perm opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist. This role involves managing all aspects of Accounts Payable, from processing invoices to issuing payments promptly, as well as performing receptionist and general administrative duties.

The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to build professional relationships within and outside the organization, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction and teamwork. Collaboration with internal stakeholders is essential.

Responsibilities:
  1. Accounts Payables:
  2. Process vendor invoices, employee expense reports, and government remittances efficiently, including invoice verification, approval circulation, coding, batching, and entry into the accounting system.
  3. Manage weekly cheque runs, issue payments via cheque and EFT timely to avoid penalties.
  4. Track all payments and expenditures to ensure accuracy and prevent duplicates.
  5. Respond to vendor inquiries, resolve disputes, and escalate issues as necessary.
  6. Prepare journal entries and reconcile company credit card usage.
  7. Maintain and organize historical records.
  8. Continuously improve the payment process.
  9. Assist with year-end audits and other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education related to the duties; formal education in accounting preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and MS Teams.
  • Basic understanding of Canadian sales taxes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively.
  • Resourcefulness and proactivity in resolving issues.
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic.
  • Action-oriented and results-driven.
  • Minimum three years of relevant experience in Accounts Payables.
  • Experience with accounting software, MS Dynamic GP, and AP automation tools like Beanworks or SAP Concur is an asset.
  • Hands-on experience with office equipment such as printers, copiers, scanners, and fax machines.
Perks:
  • 6-month temporary position with potential for permanent placement.
  • Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm.
  • Hourly pay rate from $25 to $28, plus 4% vacation pay.
  • Weekly pay via Direct Deposit.
