Job summary

Cresco Investments Limited, based in Bedford, Nova Scotia, seeks a Manager, Accounting for a 14-18 month maternity leave coverage. You will lead accounting and reporting across multiple entities, manage day-to-day banking, and provide financial analysis for stakeholders and government remittance reporting.

Reporting to the Director, Accounting, you will prepare month-end closing, review reports, and collaborate on budget analysis while ensuring compliance and robust internal controls.

Qualifications

• CPA designation with 3-5+ years in progressive accounting roles.
• Experience in high-volume or multi-entity environments.
• Advanced Excel and MS Office skills.
• Experience in construction/real estate is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review month-end and quarter-end reports for multiple companies.
• Prepare building reports and internal reporting packages for management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders on budget preparation and analysis.
• Identify information, model it, and support decision making.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and cross billings.
• Analyze Income Statement and Balance Sheets for accuracy.
• Provide insights to financial information for stakeholders.
• Review controls to safeguard company assets.
• Prepare year-end files for external accountants.
• Respond to government reporting and remittances requests (StatsCan/CRA).
• Assist with systems and process improvements.
