Job summary

Cresco is seeking an Accounting Manager to join its Bedford, NS head office for a 14-month term. The role offers flexibility for in-office, hybrid or remote work and reports to the Director of Accounting.

The successful candidate will manage month-end close for multiple entities, oversee reporting, government remittances, and intercompany reconciliations while driving process improvements across the organization.

Qualifications

• CPA designation is required.
• Experience in high-volume or multi-entity environments preferred.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to manage time and meet deadlines while handling multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Cresco is looking for an Accounting Manager to join their head office in Bedford, NS for a 14-month term. This role has flexibility for in office, hybrid or remote work.

Reporting to the Director of Accounting, the Accounting Manager will be responsible for assisting with the accounting and reporting of multiple companies, day-to-day banking, financial analysis for stakeholders and government reporting and remittances.

Responsibilities

• Prepare various month-end and quarter-end reports for multiple companies.
• Assist with building reports and preparation of internal reporting packages for management team and partners.
• Work collaboratively with relevant stakeholders for budget preparation and analysis.
• Identify useful and relevant information, process it, analyze and organize it into various models in order to support senior management in decision making.
• Reconcile intercompany transactions and cross billings.
• Analytical review of income statement and balance sheets to ensure transaction posting accuracy and compliance with established accounting standards, procedures, and internal controls.
• Provide value added insight to financial information presented internally and externally to various stakeholders.
• Testing and review of procedures to ensure effective internal processes, systems, and controls are in place to safeguard company assets.
• Assist with preparation of year-end files for external accountants, and in responding to requests for additional information, as needed.
• Review and assist with the timely completion of all government reporting and remittances, including Statistics Canada and CRA requests for additional information.
• Support and work with the finance team with systems and process improvements throughout the organization.
• Prepare annual commercial real estate rental calculations.

Ideal Candidate

• CPA designation.
• Previous experience in a high-volume or multi-entity environment is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving problems as necessary.
• Ability to effectively manage time and meet deadlines, while multi-tasking competing priorities.
• Self-motivated with strong initiative, and an inquisitive mind.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
