Join Vancouver Island Forest & Marine (VIFM) – a team of industry experts dedicated to tackling challenges, upholding accountability, and driving sustainable innovation. We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive Accounting & HR Assistant to join

our Office team in Duncan. In this role, you will support financial operations, employee onboarding, and HR administration, working closely with both our Operations and Office teams to ensure smooth and efficient processes.

Key Responsibilities

•Post and code invoice transactions into accounts payable software•Prepare cheque and electronic payment runs

•Support customer billing cycles

•Post and code payroll time and expenses into payroll software

•Assist with journal entries and financial reporting

•Provide office support for remote Operations teams as needed

•Assist with employee onboarding and benefit administration

•Maintain employee records, contracts, and compliance documentation

•Support payroll preparation by verifying employee timesheets

•Assist with HR policies, workplace safety documentation, and administrative tasks

The Successful Candidate Will Have:

•Experience in accounting and HR administration (SAGE, QuickBooks preferred)•Strong attention to detail and accuracy

•Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

•Integrity, professionalism, and strong work ethic

•A team player with great communication skills

•A desire to grow with our company and be part of a long-term team

Compensation

•$25 - $28 per hour, based on experience and qualifications
