Job description

Agilus is recruiting for an Account Manager - Industrial Outside Sales in the Industrial Supply Services Sector in Edmonton, Alberta.

Our client supports customers across Western Canada, working with a wide range of products for industries such as oil and gas, mining, manufacturing, water, and food. They provide solutions including system set-ups, repair, and maintenance. The Account Manager, reporting to the Sales Manager, will collaborate with team members to manage the full scope of work from customer inquiry to delivery and service.

Responsibilities:
  1. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and vendors to understand their needs, provide exceptional service, and ensure long-term satisfaction. Communicate accurate, knowledgeable information to stakeholders.
  2. Provide customers with accurate information about products and their suitability, participate in lessons learned sessions for continuous improvement.
  3. Convey customer requirements effectively to project teams, staff, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication of order requirements.
  4. Collaborate with team members to set expectations, deliverables, and communication strategies.
  5. Develop and implement sales strategies to meet revenue and profitability goals, including upselling and cross-selling in the territory.
  6. Meet and exceed sales targets by prospecting, qualifying, and securing new business opportunities, and maintaining relationships with stakeholders.
  7. Expand business with current customers and develop new markets through collaboration with peers and marketing strategies.
  8. Maintain project pursuit records, customer databases, quotation tracking, and follow-up procedures within CRM/ERP systems. Support site troubleshooting, start-up, and commissioning as needed.
Successful candidates will have:
  1. A friendly, professional demeanor.
  2. A degree or diploma in business, marketing, engineering, instrumentation, or related fields.
  3. At least five years of experience in sales, account management, or related roles in an industrial setting.
  4. Experience with rotating equipment or millwright work is an asset.
  5. Customer service focus, problem-solving skills, proactive approach, and systematic thinking.
  6. Investigative strategy, accountability, high attention to detail, and adherence to best practices.
  7. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including software note-taking.
  8. Knowledge of compressed air technology, especially air compressor applications, sales, and technical aptitude.
