Job summary

Connex Telecommunications Inc. in Richmond Hill, Canada is seeking an HR Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to the HR team, assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, benefits administration, and HR documentation.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Ceridian (Dayforce/PowerPay) HRIS is an asset.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of employment standards and HR practices is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

Position: HR Assistant
Job Summary

The HR Assistant provides administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team. This role assists with recruitment, onboarding, employee records management, HR documentation, benefits administration, and employee communications while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

Responsibilities

Coordinate employee and contractor onboarding and offboarding activities, ensuring all documentation, system access, and requirements are completed in a timely manner.

Conduct onboarding administration, including background checks, training coordination, orientation support, and maintenance of organizational charts and employee directories.

  • Maintain and update employee records, HR documentation, and contractor databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.

Prepare employment-related documentation, including employment letters and other HR correspondence.

Manage vacation tracking and support leave administration processes.

Respond to employee inquiries and provide clarification regarding benefits and HR-related matters.

Support employee benefits administration, including enrollment processes and responding to benefits-related inquiries.

Prepare and distribute monthly HR and benefits reports, including retirement savings plan reports, contractor workforce reports, and other recurring management reports.

Assist with the planning and coordination of employee engagement, recognition, and wellness initiatives.

Maintain organized HR files, records, and departmental documentation in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Provide administrative support for HR programs, projects, and initiatives as required.

Provide support for payroll administration activities, with the opportunity to assume additional payroll responsibilities as knowledge and experience develop.

Assist with other human resources and administrative duties, and other ad hoc assignments as needed.

Requirements
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

1-2 years of administrative or HR-related experience preferred

Knowledge of Ceridian (Dayforce/PowerPay) HR Information Systems is an asset

Strong organizational and time-management skills

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

High level of confidentiality and professionalism

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Attention to detail and accuracy

Ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Knowledge of employment standards and HR practices is an advantage

Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
