Job summary

Finning Canada is seeking Apprentice Heavy Duty Mechanics (3rd/4th or 4th year) for a permanent role based in Prince George. This position offers hands-on CAT equipment work, customer interface, and strong safety standards in a 7x7 shift environment.

Ideal candidates have experience with electrical, hydraulic, and emissions systems, a clean Driver’s Abstract, and the drive to complete Red Seal. Finning supports certifications and benefits.

Qualifications

• 3rd or 4th Apprentice Mechanic (desire to complete Red Seal).
• Clean Drivers’ Abstract (5 yr).
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Experience with construction, forestry and mining equipment is an asset.
• Engine and/or component rebuilding experience would be beneficial.
• Previous gas engine and power generation experience would be considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Trouble shoot, repair and maintain CAT equipment in a shop environment.
• Interface with customers, products and sales support.
• Maintain Finning Customer Service Commitment.
• Respond to customer needs in a positive, timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed.
• Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment.
• Provide support with reference to on-site safety requirements.
