Job summary

Finning Canada is hiring Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics for Edmonton, to diagnose, repair and overhaul Caterpillar engines. The role fixes engines, machines and related systems in a shop setting with a Monday-Friday schedule that shifts to a 7x7 cycle.

The ideal candidate holds a Journeyperson certification, at least 2 years on 3500 engines, and experience with electrical, hydraulic and emissions systems. Union membership is required; extensive CAT dealer training and benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• Interprovincial Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Certification required.
• Minimum 2 years experience on 3500 series engines.
• Gas Engine and Power Generation experience is an asset.
• Dedication to safety.
• Strong experience in Electrical, Hydraulic and Emissions systems.
• Transmission or Hydraulic testing experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both written and verbal.

Important Details

• This position is located in shop in Edmonton on a Monday-Friday shift but will switch to a 7x7 continuous shift
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement
