Job summary

Finning Canada in Fort McMurray is hiring Heavy Duty Field Mechanics to support our customers in the Wood Buffalo Region. This role operates on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation and requires CAT mining/construction equipment field service experience.

You will troubleshoot and repair equipment, interface with customers, and complete required safety and training; union membership is expected. Finning offers premium wages, benefits and CAT-certified training paid for by Finning.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certification.
• Experience as a Heavy Duty Technician operating a service truck.
• Dedication to safety.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
• Understanding of the Caterpillar product line is an asset.
• Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean abstract.
• Completion or in progress Finning S-level courses is an asset.
• Team player.

• Work with the supervisor on various tasks.

• Valid class 5 driver's license with a successful driver abstract
• Completion or be in the process of completing Finning S-level courses would also be considered an asset

Note

• This position is located out of our Fort McMurray Town Shop facility on a 14x14 continuous shift rotation
• Role will require access to various customer sites around the Wood Buffalo region, a condition of employment is the ability to obtain customer site access (drug & alcohol, fitness testing, wear a respirator where applicable) and will be required to successfully complete necessary training and other activities based on customer requirements
• Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current collective agreement
• Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement
• You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted
