Job Title: 1st Cook

Location: Elk Valley, BC

We are seeking a 1st Cook to join our Camp Services team. The 1st Cook will be responsible for preparing and serving meals according to company standards, providing coverage for the Chef during rotations, working nights, and supervising staff.

The work rotation is 20 days on and 10 days off.

Responsibilities:
  1. Assist the Chef in managing food services in compliance with Food Service Management Guides and Provincial and Federal Regulations.
  2. Assist in preparing all foods according to meal plans and schedules.
  3. Assist in inventory control to maintain appropriate stock levels.
  4. Assign duties to kitchen staff to ensure tasks are completed professionally and timely.
  5. Train staff in food preparation, service, sanitation, and safety procedures following government regulations and health and safety policies.
  6. Inspect facilities and equipment for regulatory compliance.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
  1. Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field, including baking and breakfast cooking.
  2. Red Seal Certification is required.
  3. Advanced Food Safe Certificate required.
  4. Class 5 driver’s license and a clean driver’s abstract are required.
  5. CSTS certification is an asset.
  6. Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to work well under pressure and solve problems effectively.
  8. Promote a respectful and professional work environment.
