Job description

Newland Enterprises Ltd. is hiring for a Camp Cook (1st)

We are seeking a dedicated Camp Cook (1st) to join our team at a 31-room camp. The successful candidate will work closely with the administration and management to ensure a safe, healthy, and enjoyable stay for all employees and industrial guests.

Responsibilities:

  1. Complete daily and weekly paperwork, including inventory management and ordering.
  2. Plan menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for camp guests.
  3. Check consumable levels in the camp, including generator hours, fuel levels, and propane levels.
  4. Ensure clients with dietary constraints are accommodated.
  5. Maintain the cleanliness and orderliness of the kitchen.
  6. Operate kitchen equipment safely and promote safe work habits.

Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of related experience in remote camps.
  • Class 5 driver’s license in good standing.
  • Food Safe certification; additional relevant certifications are encouraged.
  • First aid certification is an asset.
  • Preference will be given to local and surrounding community applicants.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $27.50 - $30.00 hourly.
  • Paid travel to/from Fort St. James to the camp.
