Job summary

Near North District School Board invites applications for an Intermediate/Senior Music Teacher LTO, commencing immediately until November 27, 2026, or until an earlier return of the teacher. The role requires a valid Ontario College of Teachers Certificate and a valid Certification of Registration, plus instrumental music qualifications.

The successful candidate will lead a repertoire class after school weekly, support literacy and numeracy, and integrate technology to document and evaluate

Qualifications

• Ontario College of Teachers Certificate is required.
• Certification of Registration with the Ontario College of Teachers is required.
• Intermediate/Senior Instrumental Music qualifications are required.
• Ability to play guitar is an asset.

Required Teaching Qualifications

• Willingness to Run a Repertoire Class After School One Day a Week
• Knowledge of Ministry Curriculum and Assessment documents
• Demonstrated experience with Apple based software and Mobile devices (iPad/MacBook/iMac)
• Evidence of understanding of varied learners with a focus on 'at-risk' students
• Evidence of supporting Literacy and Numeracy from a whole school perspective
• Evidence of integration of technology for the documentation and evaluation of student work
• Ability to work as part of a school team and to communicate effectively
