Position Overview

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As part of our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that promote positive cash flow. You will collaborate with international teams to manage a digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and employer linking.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into technical solutions and lead engineering efforts.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
7. Document architecture, APIs, workflows, and system configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate effectively across teams to ensure smooth development processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience with distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Proactive ownership of projects and experience working with agile methodologies.
