Position Overview

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will play a key role in enhancing user access to Rain and developing products that promote positive cash flow. You will collaborate with international teams to manage a digital wallet that enables seamless transactions and employer linking.

Responsibilities

• Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend alternatives, and lead engineering efforts to meet goals.
• Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
• Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
• Design and develop highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
• Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
• Implement observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
• Maintain detailed technical documentation for all solutions.
• Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
• Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cloud services (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Ability to own projects and work with agile methodologies.
