Position Overview

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote role involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners. As part of our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and build products that maintain positive cash availability.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend alternatives, and lead engineering efforts.
2. Design and implement reliable systems in a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices with logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability opportunities.
9. Collaborate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
4. Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
5. Experience with scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures.
6. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
7. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes.
8. Ownership of projects and proactive problem-solving skills.
9. Experience with agile methodologies and message queuing systems like Kafka.
10. Release management and CI/CD experience.
