Position Overview: We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with experience in Golang. This remote position involves managing various aspects of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and build products that support positive cash flow.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommending alternatives and leading engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and develop highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
7. Document solutions thoroughly, including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficient in backend languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
