We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will facilitate user access to Rain and develop products to maintain positive cash availability.

You will collaborate with international product and engineering teams to manage a digital wallet enabling seamless account creation and employer linking.

Our ideal candidate is eager to solve technical challenges and contribute strategically.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain third-party integrations.
4. Design and implement RESTful APIs supporting web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries for scalability.
6. Enforce observability with logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Maintain detailed technical documentation.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Proficient in backend languages like Go, Java, Python, C++.
4. Experience designing RESTful APIs.
5. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
6. Experience with distributed systems and microservices.
7. Strong collaboration and communication skills.
8. Familiar with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), Docker, Kubernetes.
9. Ownership mindset and project management skills.
10. Experience with agile methodologies and message queuing systems like Kafka.
11. Release management experience with CI/CD tools like GitLab CI, GitHub Actions.
