Position Overview

We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners. As part of our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that maintain positive cash availability.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions and lead engineering efforts.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile apps.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture, APIs, and workflows.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++.
4. Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
5. Strong understanding of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
6. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
7. Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and CI/CD frameworks.
8. Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
9. Ability to own projects from concept to completion.
10. Experience working with agile methodologies.
