We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with experience in Golang.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various backend platform areas, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer within our User Tribe, you will help make it easier for users to access Rain and develop products that promote positive cash availability.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet that enables seamless account creation and employer linking.

The ideal candidate is excited to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic thinking.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement high-availability RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to promote collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
7. Maintain detailed technical documentation, including architecture, APIs, workflows, and configurations.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Communicate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications:

1. 5+ years of software development experience.
2. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
3. Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
4. Strong experience with RESTful API design and development.
5. Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases, including data modeling and optimization.
6. Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
7. Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
8. Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, serverless, and CI/CD tools.
9. Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
10. Effective release management skills for zero-downtime deployments.
