We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various backend platform areas, including API integrations with 3rd-party vendors and partners. As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will facilitate user access to Rain and develop products to maintain positive cash availability.

You will collaborate with international product and engineering teams to manage a digital wallet enabling seamless transactions and account linking. Our ideal candidate is eager to tackle technical challenges and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate product requirements into technical solutions, recommend approaches, and lead engineering efforts.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed micro-services architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to foster collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting systems.
7. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate effectively across teams to align priorities and requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go/Golang, Java, Python, C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs.
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Ownership of projects and proactive problem-solving.
• Experience with agile methodologies and message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, or Flink.
• Release management and CI/CD experience with tools like Gitlab CI or Github Actions.
