Position Overview

We are looking for a Backend Software Engineer with Golang experience. This remote position involves managing various areas of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer with our User Tribe, you will play a key role in making it easier for users to access Rain and build products that help maintain positive cash flow. You will work with international product and engineering teams to manage a digital wallet that enables seamless account creation and employer linking.

Responsibilities

1. Translate product requirements into robust technical solutions, recommend alternatives, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement reliable systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Design and implement highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Create reusable code and libraries to promote collaboration and scalability.
6. Enforce observability best practices using logging, metrics, and alerting tools.
7. Create and maintain detailed technical documentation.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development lifecycle.

Skills and Qualifications

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in back-end languages such as Go, Java, Python, C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, ECS.
• Ability to own projects and drive initiatives independently.
• Experience with agile methodologies and message queuing systems like Kafka, RabbitMQ, Flink.
• Experience with CI/CD frameworks such as GitLab CI and GitHub Actions.
