We are seeking a Backend Software Engineer with experience in Golang.

This position is remote.

The candidate will manage various aspects of our backend platform, including API integrations with third-party vendors and partners.

As a Backend Engineer in our User Tribe, you will facilitate user access to Rain and develop products that help maintain positive cash flow.

You will collaborate with our international product and engineering teams to manage a robust digital wallet supporting seamless account creation and employer linking.

Responsibilities:

1. Translate product requirements into reliable technical solutions, recommend alternatives, and lead engineering efforts to meet targets.
2. Design and implement systems within a distributed microservices architecture.
3. Build and maintain integrations with third-party vendors and partners.
4. Create highly available RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
5. Develop reusable code and libraries to promote collaboration and scalability.
6. Implement observability practices using logging, metrics, and alerts.
7. Maintain detailed technical documentation.
8. Monitor systems for performance and scalability improvements.
9. Collaborate across teams to align priorities and requirements throughout the development process.

Skills and Qualifications:

• 5+ years of software development experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Proficiency in backend languages such as Go, Java, Python, or C++.
• Experience designing RESTful APIs and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of distributed systems and microservices architecture.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD tools.
• Experience with message queuing systems like Kafka or RabbitMQ.
• Ability to own projects and work independently within agile methodologies.
