Private Advertiser is seeking a procurement professional to manage ship provisions, negotiate prices, and arrange timely deliveries to vessels. You will compare supplier quotes, verify invoices for payment, monitor outstanding balances with Finance, and ensure all purchases follow department policy.

A Diploma in Purchasing and 1–2 years in shipping purchasing are expected; Mandarin and English language skills are preferred.

Qualificações

• Diploma in Purchasing or equivalent required.
• Experience in ship provisions purchasing preferred.
• 1–2 years’ purchasing experience in shipping industry.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Price-conscious and computer literate.
• Fluent English and Mandarin preferred.
• Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Flexible, meticulous, cheerful, and a good team player.

About the role

Procurement of all ship provisions at competitive prices and arrange deliveries to vessels promptly. To compare prices, negotiate and verify invoices for payment. To assess suppliers and contractors performance. To maintain proper documents and uninterrupted day-to-day operations.

Key responsibilities

• Procurement of all ship provisions at competitive prices and arrange deliveries to vessels promptly

• Compare prices, negotiate and verify invoices for payment

• Assess suppliers and contractors performance

• Maintain proper documents and uninterrupted day-to-day operations

• Monitor and work with Finance Department on outstanding payments

• Ensure all requisitions and purchases are in alignment with department's policy

• Provide administrative support to the department in the absence of the Admin Assistant

About you

• Possess at least a Diploma in Purchasing or equivalent

• Conversant with ship provisions purchasing

• 1-2 years' purchasing experience in the shipping industry

• Good communication and negotiation skills

• Price conscious

• Computer literate

• Preferably bilingual in English and Mandarin. We are seeking candidates proficient in Mandarin to effectively communicate with Mandarin-speaking clients.

• Capable to work independently with minimum supervision

• Flexible, meticulous, cheerful and friendly

• Good team player and able to work with demanding people
