The Business Development Representative is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities in Brazil, while maintaining strong relationships with existing clients. This role emphasizes strategic market engagement, solution-oriented selling, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver tailored proposals that address client-specific challenges. The position involves proactive prospecting, pipeline management, and contract negotiations, as well as participation in marketing initiatives and industry events. Success requires a consultative approach, strong business acumen, and the ability to align client needs with organizational capabilities to achieve long-term growth objectives.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develop, lead, and execute strategic business development plans to expand market presence and achieve revenue targets within assigned territories.
  • Conduct market assessments and competitive analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; share insights to inform organizational strategy.
  • Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities through proactive networking, referrals, inbound inquiries, and targeted market research.
  • Conduct regular in-person client visits to maintain visibility, strengthen relationships, and uncover new opportunities.
  • Act as the primary client liaison, ensuring responsive and professional communication during and outside of standard business hours.
  • Proactively solicit client feedback post-project or post-sale to assess satisfaction, identify improvement areas, and enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain a high level of client engagement and retention through consultative selling and value-driven relationship management.
  • Develop and present detailed, solution-oriented technical proposals and quotations tailored to client-specific objectives and challenges.
  • Provide consultative support during job planning, offering technical guidance and customized solutions aligned with client needs.
  • Prepare and manage documentation for RFQ/RFP processes, ensuring timely and accurate submissions in collaboration with Legal, HR, QHSE, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Review contract terms, pricing, insurance requirements, and other key elements in coordination with Legal prior to leadership review and approval.
  • Facilitate contract closure and execution, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery.
  • Log all sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions in Salesforce; ensure data accuracy to support reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
  • Support collections efforts by following up on outstanding payments and coordinating with internal finance teams to resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to align on sales goals, drive cross-functional initiatives, and support operational execution.
  • Support marketing initiatives by coordinating trade show participation and representing the company at key industry conferences and events.
  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and innovations through ongoing professional development and active participation in industry organizations.
  • Travel to client locations, including out-of-town and international destinations, as required.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by leadership.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical discipline (e.g., Geology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering) is strongly preferred; equivalent combination of education and relevant industry experience will also be considered
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development, technical sales, or client relationship management within the energy, oil & gas, or related industrial sectors.
  • Proven track record of developing new business, managing key accounts, and achieving revenue targets.
  • Experience with RFQ/RFP processes, contract negotiations, and solution-based selling.
  • Familiarity with upstream oil and gas exploration, core and/or fluid analysis, or related analytical services is highly desirable.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally as required

  • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to uncover client needs and deliver tailored, solution-oriented proposals that drive value.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and CRM platforms such as Salesforce; quick to learn and adapt to new digital tools and systems.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation, reporting, and time management capabilities.
  • Skilled in managing multiple accounts and projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines, revenue goals, and client expectations.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making abilities, with sound judgment in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively across departments including Legal, Finance, Operations, and Marketing.
  • Proficient in basic and applied mathematics, including percentages, ratios, and proportions, for use in pricing, quoting, and forecasting.
  • Demonstrates strategic thinking and business acumen, with the ability to align client needs with organizational capabilities.

  • Previous experience in technical or consultative sales is preferred, particularly in laboratory, or service-based environments.
