Network Engineer – Citrix ADC to F5 Migration Specialist

Key responsibilities/Expectations from the Role
- Lead the end-to-end migration from Citrix ADC to F5 BIG-IP, ensuring a smooth and efficient process.
- Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop migration strategies and incorporate their recommendations into the project.
- Assess existing Citrix ADC configurations, including load balancing, SSL offloading, authentication, and security policies.
- Design and implement F5 BIG-IP architectures that meet business and technical requirements.
- Configure and test F5 BIG-IP features such as LTM, SSL/TLS profiles, persistence, iRules, and high availability.
- Perform traffic cutover to F5 BIG-IP in a phased manner to minimize service disruptions.
- Conduct functional and performance testing to validate migration success and address any issues.
- Optimize F5 BIG-IP configurations for performance, security, and reliability.
- Document new F5 BIG-IP configurations and provide training to the Operations and Support teams.
- Offer post-migration support and address any issues identified during the transition phase.
- Monitor and log network traffic to ensure proactive issue identification and resolution.
Must Have
- Strong experience with Citrix ADC (NetScaler) and F5 BIG-IP (LTM).
- Deep knowledge of load balancing, SSL/TLS offloading, session persistence, and traffic management.
- Experience in high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) configurations.
- Familiarity with security features such as WAF, access control policies, and authentication mechanisms.
- Proficiency in writing and troubleshooting F5 iRules.
- Experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Good to Have
- Ability to work closely with Engineering and Operations teams to align project strategies and incorporate feedback.
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Awareness of security best practices in automation and the ability to implement secure coding principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- F5 Certified Administrator (F5-CA) or F5 Certified Technical Specialist (F5-CTS) preferred.
- Citrix certifications such as CCP-N (Citrix Certified Professional – Networking) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with significant experience in Citrix ADC and F5 BIG-IP migration or administration.
- Experience in enterprise-level network environments and large-scale migrations.
